3+1 Program Questions
What are the advantages to joining the 3+1 program?
Can I complete the 3+1 program part-time? Can I complete all of my required courses in the evening or online?
The 3+1 program is flexible and many students attend part-time. The only exception is the B.A. in Inclusive Education, which is not offered part-time due to placements and other requirements.
Classes may be offered during the day, evening and/or online. Inclusive Ed and Biological Sciences students typically take core required classes during the day. Other majors may have more options for day and evening courses. Most majors have the option for some online coursework, especially for free electives.
The senior year of the RN-BSN program is fully online.
Schedules are subject to change, and students are encouraged to speak with their advisor with specific questions about their major.
What are my options for a double major, minor, and/or a CUGS?
A double major is possible if both majors are 3+1 programs. If you are interested in a double major not currently offered in the 3+1 program, you may need to transfer to the Glassboro campus. We encourage you to speak with your advisor about double majors and planning for all required courses.
A list of available Minors and CUGS for 3+1 students is available here.
Please speak with your academic advisor for more details and to obtain a Program Guide for your minor/CUGS of interest. When you are ready to declare a minor or CUGS, please email your advisor.
I am getting ready to start Senior Year. What are my next steps?
As a junior, RCBC or RCSJ advisors will send your information to Rowan University, and you will begin the process of transiting to Rowan University. Even though your classes may continue to run at Mount Laurel, Gloucester, or online, coursework in the Senior year will be Rowan University classes, taught by Rowan University professors.
The 3+1 Advising team will guide you through the process. Students are encouraged to review the information sent to them by email, and work through the information on the Senior Year Transition Checklist.
Is the 3+1 program offered in a cohort, or can I pick and choose my classes?
With the exception of Inclusive Ed, our programs are not cohort-based and students can pick and choose their classes.
Typically, you will have free electives in your senior year, but it depends on your previous coursework and degree progress. Our advisors will evaluate your transcript, determine the remaining courses required, and provide you with a plan of study in advance of registration so that you can determine which courses and electives to take.
The course(s) I need to register for are not offered this term at my campus and/or online. What are my options?
Where will my senior year classes be held?
Senior year classes for 3+1 are Rowan University courses offered at RCSJ Sewell or RCBC on the Mount Laurel campus. Some online courses may also be available.
Depending on the courses you need to take for your degree, you may be able to go to other campuses if the classes are hosted there. Please speak with your advisor directly about courses offered at other campuses.
