The Health Sciences Reasoning Test-AD (HSRT) is a multiple-choice exam designed for students in two-year and certificate programs. This online, timed assessment measures critical thinking and quantitative reasoning skills through real-world scenarios in clinical and professional practice settings. The HSRT presents information in both text-based and diagrammatic formats, challenging test-takers to apply their skills in:

  • Making interpretations
  • Analyzing information
  • Drawing inferences and warranted inferences
  • Identifying claims and reasons
  • Evaluating the quality of arguments

Exam Details

  • Duration: 55 minutes (standard time)
  • Format: Online, multiple-choice
  • Fee: Non-refundable (one-time reschedule allowed within 30 days)
  • Retake Policy: 2-day waiting period required before retesting (additional fee applies) with a maximum of two retakes

Accommodations

Students who have previously received testing accommodations should contact the Office of Accessibility Services before scheduling an appointment to inquire about approval for extended time or other accommodations.

Rescheduling Policy

  • Appointments can be rescheduled up to one additional time within a 30-day period without requiring a new exam fee.
  • Exams must be rescheduled at least one hour before the start time to remain eligible.
