Health Sciences Reasoning Test (HSRT)

The Health Sciences Reasoning Test (HSRT) is a multiple-choice test specifically designed for two year and certificate programs. The HSRT is an online test administered in a timed setting and measures critical thinking as well as quantitative reasoning skills. The HSRT presents a variety of scenarios in clinical and professional practice contexts with the information provided in text-based and diagrammatic formats. HSRT questions ask test-takers to apply their skills in order to:

• Make interpretations
• Analyze information
• Draw inferences and warranted inferences
• Identify claims and reasons
• Evaluate the quality of arguments

The exam is timed with standard time of 55 minutes. Students who have received accommodations for testing in the past should email testingservices@rowan.edu for information about accommodations including extended time accommodation prior to scheduling an appointment. The exam fee is not refundable, but the appointment can be rescheduled in advance up to 2 times within a 90 day period without a new exam fee.  Exams must be rescheduled at least 1 hour in advance of the start time to be eligible.
