Exploratory Studies Frequently Asked Questions
Can I still graduate in 4 years?
- Yes! Our goal is to have students graduate in four years by completing Fifteen to Finish (15 credits per semester for eight semesters = 120 credits and degree completion.) Work with your academic advisor to make sure that you’re on track for graduation.
Are certain programs restricted?
- Most majors at Rowan University are unrestricted. This means that there are no specific requirements for entry and you may declare these majors at any time by visiting the UAC (Savitz Hall, Suite 323) and requesting to complete the Declaration/Change of Major form.
- However, some majors at Rowan University are restricted. This means that they have specific requirements for entry (auditions, coursework, GPA, etc.) and you will need to work with an advisor to plan to apply to these programs. These programs include Art, Music, Theatre/Dance, Business, Teacher Education, Health and Exercise Science, and Engineering. Speak with your academic advisor to learn more!
What if I’m interested in more than one major?
- That’s great! Rowan University offers a number of opportunities to learn more about different academic programs including academic advising, Focus-2 assessments, and the Exploratory Studies Workshop.
