Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)

Rowan Online provides access to the Canvas learning management system (LMS), which gives students centralized access to online materials for their classes. Canvas includes courses that are offered on-the-ground, as well as online and hybrid. Materials for these courses may include syllabi, video lecture recordings, online discussions and collaborations, readings, quizzes, and more.

Getting Started in Canvas

Students automatically receive access to Canvas once their Rowan NetIDs have been provisioned. Access your courses through the Rowan Online Canvas LMS. Course availability is based on the instructor.

Student FAQs

After registering, where do I go to access my course schedule?

  1. Go to the Rowan Online Portal
  2. Click My Courses in the top navigation
  3. Log in with your Rowan Network username and password to access Canvas 
  4. Upon logging in, you will have access to the Canvas Dashboard which houses all of your courses

Why are my courses not available in Canvas?

Glassboro

Courses become available to Glassboro students five days before the course begins. Once a course is available, you will see the course on your Canvas Dashboard.  

RowanSOM/GSBS

RowanSOM/GSBS students will have access to their courses 14 days before the course begins. Once a course is available, you will see the course on your Canvas Dashboard.

CMSRU 

CMSRU students will have access to their courses the Friday before the course starts. Once a course is available, you will see the course on your Canvas Dashboard.

If I add a class after the term begins, how soon will the class be available to me in Canvas?

If you add or drop a course, the change should be reflected in Canvas within 1 to 2 hours.
