Tips to Succeed in Your Courses
5 Tips to Help You Succeed in Your Courses
1. Check your Rowan email and Canvas portal every day.
You are responsible for attending every scheduled class session, whether in-person or remote, at the time listed on your course schedule. Check your Rowan student email account at least once per day. Review announcements, messages, and due dates in Canvas regularly.
2. Create a designated study space and keep it organized.
An organized study space will help you develop a routine.
Students are welcome in any public space in open buildings such as the Student Center, Campbell Library, and academic buildings.
3. Manage your time wisely and hold yourself accountable.
- Set daily and weekly goals to stay on track.
- Utilize resources available at Rowan to help like meeting with a Success Coach for guidance.
- Block out specific, regular hours to complete coursework.
4. Stay organized with your coursework.
- Check out these apps to help you organize tasks:
- Any.do: keep your to-do list and calendar in one central location.
- Remember the Milk: manage to-do lists across multiple devices and users.
5. Develop a community.
- Connect with other students in your class.
- If you can't all meet in person, try utilizing platforms such as Google Hangouts or Zoom for virtual group study sessions.
- Create text or email groups where you can ask and answer questions.
