Biography
Shawn Washart (he/him/his) is an academic advisor for the 3+1 program at Rowan College of South Jersey within Rowan Global. A native of Bellmawr, NJ Shawn graduated from the University of Scranton with a bachelors in Secondary Education and History and the University of Connecticut with a Master’s in Higher Education Student Affairs. Previously, Shawn has worked in residential life, student activities and success coaching, but is thrilled to be back in South Jersey and working at Rowan.
Shawn continually works to provide a more inclusive and effective learning environment for students through relationships and new initiatives. Shawn has completed several Racial Justice institutes and trainings along with LGBTQ Safe Zone trainings – including as a facilitator.
Shawn spends his free time checking out local breweries, trivia nights, playing board games with family and friends, or a good Netflix binge.
