Pop Quizzes for Students with Accommodations

Students who are registered with Disability Resources and approved for testing accommodations are entitled to use them on each assessment. To provide accommodations to those students Testing Services will provide Pop Quiz administration without requiring an appointment.

After submitting pop quiz submission form, please email the quiz materials to testingservices@rowan.edu with the subject line "Pop Quiz" or bring them to Savitz Hall, Third Floor, Academic Success Center, room 306.

When a student provides the instructor with their Accommodation Letter, the instructor should discuss whether there are Pop Quizzes in their class. If there are Pop Quizzes, we offer the following possible solutions:

• Instructor and student can agree that the student will be graded on 66% of the total number of questions (complete 7 of 10 questions, for example)
• Instructor and student can agree that the student will complete the Pop Quiz with the rest of the class, but it will not be counted in their final grade and another category will count for more of their grade (increasing homework from 10% to 20% to make up for a 10% homework and 10% pop quiz grade, for example)
• Instructor and student can agree that the student will not complete the Pop Quiz in class, but will take the Pop Quiz in the Testing Center, with their testing accommodations, within a reasonable timeframe. Typically, this would be the same day or the next business day as soon as the student’s schedule allows them to go to the Testing Center to complete the Pop Quiz.  Students will be seated in the Testing Center as long as the accommodated time does not extend beyond the Testing Center hours. In this case, a completed Pop Quiz Submission Form and the Pop Quiz testing materials must be submitted to Testing Services by the instructor prior to or immediately after being administered to the rest of the class. 
  • The Pop Quiz Submission Form must be completed and submitted with the pop quiz.
• During Fall and Spring semesters, Testing Services hours are Monday through Friday 8:30- 4:30 with evenings by appointment in advance only.
• After submitting pop quiz submission form, please email the quiz materials to testingservices@rowan.edu with the subject line "Pop Quiz" or bring them to Savitz Hall, Third Floor, Academic Success Center, Room 306.
