Biography
Roy Gonzalez-Magaña is the newest Area Coordinator in the Department of Residential Learning and University Housing. He actively oversees Traditional Halls and EPA. His journey is enriched by his identity as an immigrant and a first-generation student. Roy is a double alum from Kutztown University of Pennsylvania where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Master's Degree in Student Affairs in Higher Education.
His undergraduate experiences from different leadership roles in Residence Life, National Residence Hall Honorary, Student Government Board, and the Office of Admissions developed a passion for working in higher education and most recently worked in Kutztown's Career Services, Department of Human Resources, and the Fredrick Douglass Institute in.
He brings a unique perspective and a deep understanding of the diverse experiences within marginalized communities and empowering voices of those who have not been given the proper spotlight or seat at the table. As a first-generation student, Roy's educational pursuits are not only a personal achievement but a testament to his commitment to breaking barriers and paving the way for future generations.
