International Faculty Resource Guide
There exists a community of Rowan employees born outside the United States who meet semi-regularly to support one another in their private and professional lives. They are a diverse group of people who have been at Rowan for different lengths of time but find common ground in their international background. All are welcome to join—including faculty and staff who do not identify as international but who value cultural exchange, mutual support, and collegial connection.
The group has compiled this resource guide for incoming and existing faculty and staff. Among other resources, it provides information to help with your transition to living and working in the United States and New Jersey, including visa programs, housing, finances, transportation, healthcare, recreation, and childcare. They are also planning for some cultural events and will be meeting virtually most months just to stay in touch.
The Faculty Center and Dr. Mariano Savelski, Vice Provost for Faculty Affairs, invite you to the Fall 2025 International Faculty Gathering.
Date: Friday, December 19, 2025
Time: 9:30-11:30 am (come and go as you can)
Location: Glassboro Campus
If you identify as an international faculty member or visiting foreign scholar, we encourage you to join us. As always, all faculty and staff are welcome, including those who do not identify as international but value cultural exchange, mutual support, and collegial connection.
In addition to having open conversations, discussing issues, and raising questions, part of the agenda will be devoted to Provost Pophristic, and General Counsel discussing relevant supports, issues, and concerns.
If you are interested in joining us, please complete this brief form by December 12th to let us know you will attend.
If you would like to be kept in the loop, please email any of the faculty who coordinate the International Faculty Professional Learning Community:
Shuang Wu, Assistant Professor of Marketing, wus@rowan.edu
Mikkel Dack, Assistant Professor, History, dack@rowan.edu
Nina Krey, Associate Professor, Marketing, krey@rowan.edu
They look forward to meeting you!
