Order of Omega National Greek Honor Society
Purpose
- The purpose of Order of Omega is to recognize those fraternity and sorority members who have attained a high standard of leadership in Greek activities, to encourage them to continue along this line, and to inspire others to strive for similar conspicuous attainment. To bring together outstanding fraternity men and women to create an organization that will help to mold the sentiment of the institution on questions of local and intercollegiate fraternity and sorority life. To bring together members of the faculty, alumni, and student members of the institution's fraternities and sororities on a basis of mutual interest, understanding and helpfulness. To help create an atmosphere where ideas and issues can be discussed openly across Greek lines and to help work out solutions. Order of Omega meets once every month. Order of Omega leadership is composed of a President and Executive Officers. New members of Order of Omega are selected by the Executive Board based off of an application.
Application Requirements
In order to apply for Order of Omega, perspective members are required to:
- Be an active member of a Greek organization for a minimum of 1 semester
- Be a Junior or Senior by credit
- Have a minimum of the current campuswide average cumulative GPA
Membership Requirements
All active members of Order of Omega are required to:
- Maintain a 3.1 GPA
- Attend Monthly Meetings
- Complete 1 Philanthropy/Community Service Project Per Semester
- Complete 1 Fundraiser Per Semester
