Fraternity & Sorority Life is rooted in a shared commitment to values that shape every part of the student experience. Just as each fraternity and sorority has its own set of founding principles, our Greek Pillars of Excellence serve as the guiding principles of our community.
These four pillars - Leadership, Scholarship, Community, & Tradition - guide our work and help our students grow into values-driven leaders on campus and beyond. They are the standard by which we plan programs, recognize achievements, and support our chapters in making a meaningful impact.
These pillars aren’t just words — they’re the standards that help us shape a meaningful fraternity and sorority experience. They guide how we welcome new members, how we lead as students, and how we serve our campus and communities. When students join our FSL community, they’re not just joining a chapter — they’re joining a values-based network that helps them grow into who they want to become.
Our Pillars
Leadership
We shape student leaders who raise their voices and challenge the status quo. Students have opportunities to serve on executive boards of their chapters and governing councils, developing transferable skills that will help them be successful in their college career and beyond. We empower students to lead with integrity, purpose, and accountability, inspiring others through their actions.
Scholarship
Academic excellence is a cornerstone of the Greek experience, with fraternity and sorority members often achieving higher GPAs than their unaffiliated peers. We promote intellectual curiosity, academic achievement, and the pursuit of lifelong learning, recognizing that success in the classroom supports success in life. Greek organizations provide structured academic support, including study hours, mentoring, and scholarship opportunities, to ensure members stay on track.
Community
Our fraternities and sororities not only uplift and strengthen their own organizations but also contribute to the Rowan campus and the greater community through philanthropy and service. Whether through fundraising for national charities, volunteering for local causes, or hosting campus-wide initiatives, our Greek members are committed to making a meaningful impact.
Tradition
Rowan’s Greek community is rooted in deep history, meaningful rituals, and lifelong connections that extend beyond college. Each fraternity and sorority upholds traditions that celebrate their values, foster unity, and create a sense of belonging among members.
