2010 Lindback Award Winner: Patrick Westcott

Patrick went to a small Lutheran college, Concordia, in Moorhead Minnesota, for two years. He then attended the University of Minnesota, where he earned a B.A. in sociology. After serving in the Army for two years, he enrolled in a Master's of Education program at the University of Storrs and student taught second grade in an inner city school in Hartford. For 30 years Patrick worked in the Tenafly, New Jersey school system as an elementary school teacher, a resource room teacher, a staff developer, and an elementary school principal. He earned an additional Master's from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Teaneck in Clinical Psychology. He also attended broadcasting school in mid-town Manhattan. He earned his Ed.D. from Teachers College, Columbia University, basing his dissertation on his work as an elementary science curriculum staff developer. He came to Rowan University in 2003 as a temporary employee, but joined the tenure-track in 2006. He earned tenure in September of 2008 and is currently as assistant professor in the Department of Teacher Education in the College of Education.
