Student Involvement Opportunities
Explore Student Opportunities
College is far more than just delivering information to students, developing skills, and advising students for careers. It is the "experiences" that students participate in that will separate them from other candidates. From the very first Exercise Science course, students are encouraged to get involved in career building activities. These experiences facilitate student decisions that direct them to their ultimate career. Listed are a few of the opportunities for ALL Exercise Science students.
Exercise is Medicine® On Campus (EIM-OC) calls upon universities and colleges to promote physical activity as a vital sign of health. EIM-OC encourages faculty, staff and students to work together toward improving the health and well-being of the campus community by:
- Making movement a part of the daily campus culture
- Assessing physical activity at every student health visit
- Providing students with the tools necessary to strengthen healthy physical activity habits that can last a lifetime
- Connecting university health care providers with university health fitness specialists to provide a referral system for exercise prescription.
- Students in the HES major run Exercise is Medicine on Campus club and earned a "Gold Campus" status in spring 2020.
