Undergraduate Programs
The undergraduate programs offered by the Department of Health and Exercise Science provide a broad range of opportunities for health, wellness, and exercise science careers, as well as lay the foundation for advanced degrees. Our dedicated faculty offer hands-on experiences in the classroom and the surrounding community.
BS in Public Health and Wellness
Public Health and Wellness professionals focus their attention on promoting positive health behaviors, while also working to prevent disease and other health issues.
BA in Wellness Management
Wellness Management is a process of supporting, training and encouraging others in the pursuit of well-being in all dimensions of a person's life.
BS in Exercise Science
This program prepares students interested in careers such as Clinical Exercise Physiology, Corporate Fitness, Strength and Conditioning, and Medical and Community-based Fitness and Wellness Centers.
BS in Nutrition
This major prepares graduates to work as nutrition educators, counselors and exercise specialists, combining two essential areas of expertise as they serve clients in hospitals, worksite, community and school-based wellness and fitness programs.
BA in Health Studies
This is a degree completion program designed for students with an AAS degree and Medical Technology or Clinical Medical Assistant certification.
Psychology of Sport and Exercise Science Minor
This minor enhances knowledge in the field of psychology as it relates to sport and exercise performance.
Athletic Training
This program is divided into a three-year Pre-Athletic Training Curriculum (undergrad) and a two-year Professional Athletic Training Program (grad). Students will be eligible for the Board of Certification Exam once completing the Master of Science in Athletic Training.
Nutrition and Dietetics
Students who are accepted into the coordinated Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics can become Registered Dietitians.
Public Health and Wellness Minor
This minor is a good complement to many majors, including Health and Science Communication, Nutrition, Exercise Science, Disaster Science and Emergency Management and those seeking to further their education in the healthcare fields.
