Certificates of Undergraduate Studies, or CUGS, are a terrific way to complement or enhance an area of study. They are usually no more than 17 credit hours and are noted on student transcripts. HES offers several CUGS, listed below.
Adventure Leadership Education
Adventure Education allows students to facilitate adventure style pursuits and expose their clientele to focus challenge, adventure, and growth experiences.
Psychology of Sport and Exercise
To provide concepts of psychology and exercise related to behavioral theories, physiological processes, social psychology of sport and exercise, and psychological modalities related to performance in a sport and exercise environment.
Spanish for Health Professions
The Certificate of Undergraduate Study (CUGS) in Spanish for Health Professions (12 s.h.) includes a combination of Spanish language coursework at the Intermediate level and subject-specific coursework offered both in Spanish and in English. The program is designed to enhance students’ prospects on the job market by making them more effective in treating and communicating with Spanish-speaking patients and clients.
Sport Management
The Sport Management CUGS will provide an experience for HES students who may be interested in sport or fitness related entrepreneurship, or for business students with an interest related to sport and fitness management/administrative fields.
