Note to Parents & Family Members about Orientation Reservations

Thank you for supporting your daughter or son as they make the transition to college. This is an important time for them, and your support can help them make a successful transition to Rowan University.

As you read, "we expect that students make their own reservations for orientation (and to make the parent & guest reservations as well). Students are responsible for creating their Rowan University online accounts and keeping this information safe and secure. Students should not share this information with anyone, including their parents, in order to ensure the confidentiality of student records."

During the orientation reservation process, your student will be presented with important information about her or his University online accounts, acceptable use policies, academic major, emergency contact information, and many details about the orientation program that are not available for review after this process is complete. It is crucial that students view and confirm this information themselves.

We recommend that families complete this important process together, and have ongoing discussions about the transition to college. If your son or daughter is not with you, please stop here and resume the orientation reservation process with them later.

We understand this can be a busy and exciting time, particularly if your daughter or son is graduating from high school and all of the celebrations that go along with that. Orientation is an important step in a student's college career, please help your daughter or son find the time to dedicate to this important process. The time to complete orientation reservations, including discussing options with family members, should take no more than a half hour.

Thank you for your understanding. We hope that you can particiapte in our Parent & Family Orientation Program to continue this conversation and learn more about how to support your Rowan student.
