How much can I borrow?

There are limits to the amount of federal student loans you can receive annually and also over your lifetime, called an aggregate limit. You can view your borrowing history by viewing the National Student Loan Data System.

$138,500 for graduate or professional students. No more than $65,000 of this amount may be in subsidized loans. This limit includes all federal loans received for undergraduate study.

 *Dependent students whose parents are unable to obtain PLUS Loans may be able to borrow up to the amount of an independent student for their grade-level
