Federal Work-Study Program

Rowan University participates in the Department of Education's Federal Work-Study Program (FWS). If you wish to participate in this program, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at www.fafsa.gov

This program provides jobs both on and off campus for students who indicate a desire to participate in the Work-Study program on their FAFSA and show "financial need". Many student worker positions provide skills and experience which will assist students in their career development.

Work may not exceed 20 hours per week while classes are in session or 30 hours per week when classes are not in session.

This program is available to full and part-time students.

Institutional Work Study Program

If you are interested in participating in Work-Study and do not meet the eligibility requirements for the federal program, you may participate in the Institutional Work-Study Program (IWS). These positions are made available through institutional funding. Jobs vary from general office work to pre-professional opportunities.

You must must be enrolled full-time to work under IWS.

Applying for Work-Study Positions

If you are interested in participating in the Federal Work-Study Program, you should check Rowan email account often for announcements about the program. A work-study career fair usually takes place early in the fall semester. At this fair, you will be able to meet with prospective on and off-campus FWS employers and may be able to secure a position at this fair.

In addition, FWS and IWS positions are posted on the Office of Career Advancement’s job posting system called Profs Jobs. To search for work-study positions (FWS or IWS), select one of the following links to see a listing of all available jobs.
