Applying for FWS Positions

Applying for Federal Work-Study Positions

If you are interested in participating in the Federal Work-Study Program, you should check your Rowan email account often for announcements about the program and your eligibility. In general, the Office of Financial Aid will notify students if they are eligible for FWS during the summer before the new academic year begins.

Your financial aid profile is based on numerous moving parts, if you think you may be eligible, you can contact us to confirm. A student may be initially told they are ineligible, then a change may make them eligible, and vice versa.

FWS Students Who Have a Position

If you previously had a FWS position, and will be returning to the same role, please contact your supervisor so they can let us know they will be re-hiring you. We will then award your funds (if funding is available) during the summer months and your supervisor can begin the re-hire process with human resources.

As a student, it is important your financial aid requirements (FAFSA, verification, etc.) are complete ASAP so we can award you funds when that time comes.

Students Looking for a New FWS Position

If you are new to the FWS program, or are looking for a new position, you are encouraged to look for available positions posted on the Office of Career Advancement’s job posting system called Profs Jobs.

  • To access ProfsJobs, students may access the site by visiting the student section at rowan.edu/profsjobs using their Rowan email address and password.
  • Returning students should click “forgot password” option if they do not know their password.
  • If the system does not recognize your Rowan email address, click the “sign up” option to create an account with your Rowan student email.

Note: New incoming students for the fall term may not have immediate access to ProfsJobs. Students will be provided with access in late-August prior to the start of the fall term.
