Facts About Fees - 2020-21 & 2021-22 Academic Years

Fees are subject to change, consistent with University policy, pending board approval, and without notice to individual students.

Student Life Fee

The Campus Life fee supports facilities, programs, and services that promote student involvement and that are complementary to, but not part of, instructional programs.  The fee supports operating and capital expenses for services related to the physical and psychological health and well-being of students, social and cultural activities and programs, services related to campus life and campus community, and educational and career support services.  These services often take place through, but are not limited to, Campus Recreation, Chamberlain Student Center and Campus Activities, and virtual programming.

General Service Fee

The General Service Fee is used to primarily cover fixed costs of providing educational services that may not be directly related to the number of credit hours for which a student is enrolled.  The fee helps defray the cost related to debt service and Operating and Maintenance costs related to construction projects, preventive and deferred maintenance, as well as utility, lease-related and Informational Technology related costs.

Student Government Fee

These fees are collected by the University on behalf of the Student Government Association (SGA), which is responsible for the allocation and management of the funds.  Funds collected from this fee are used to support SGA and Rowan After Hours (RAH). This fee supports all clubs, organizations, and committees chartered through the SGA, which are responsible for the allocation and management of the funds, as well as individual student projects and travel funded through SGA. RAH provides late-night/weekend opportunities for Rowan University students to become active in campus life by executing diverse, quality programs in a safe and welcoming environment.

SGA and student organizations will continue to meet virtually throughout the fall, and some in-person events will also be offered.  We encourage all undergraduate students to get involved in student organizations, whether on campus or learning remotely.  Virtual Student Organization Fairs are offered for students to learn more about these clubs and how to join early in the fall term.  During SGA meetings, student leaders vote on how these fees are allocated.  The budget that was approved by SGA for 2020-21 last spring is available online.  Rowan After Hours will continue offer a variety of virtual and in-person events for students this fall.

Wellness Fee

The Wellness Center is a fully integrated health and wellness facility for Rowan University students. The clinical services integrated within the Wellness Center include: Student Health Services (SHS), Counseling and Psychological Services (CPS), Alcohol and Other Drug Services (AOD), Emergency Medical Services (EMS), and Healthy Campus Initiatives (HCI) - which provides comprehensive health and wellness education and programming to students. Dedicated staff and licensed professionals collaborate to provide quality health and wellness clinical care to Rowan University students.
