We are pleased to announce that Rowan University has partnered with GradGuard, the #1 provider of insurance to students in the nation. GradGuard’s mission is to assist students and their families in protecting their investment in higher education, and their pioneering insurance programs specifically aim to help students overcome losses that my disrupt their education.
Tuition Protection Benefits
Tuition protection benefits provided by GradGuard can provide peace of mind to students and families by reimbursing tuition and fees for a variety of covered reasons, such as:
- Serious illness or injury (e.g., mononucleosis, severe head injury);
- Mental health conditions (e.g., depression, anxiety, suicide/attempted suicide);
- Chronic illness (e.g., diabetes, autoimmune disorders);
- Death of a tuition payer (parent or other payer); and/or
- Loss of employment for tuition payer (parent or other payer).
Purchasing a GradGuard Policy
There are three (3) ways in which you can purchase a protection policy.
- Via the student's ePay Center;
- Through the GradGuard website; or
- Via GradGuard's Member Services Team (877-794-6603).
Purchasing Tuition Protection Through the ePay Center
If you are opting to purchase through the ePay Center, please refer to information provided below detailing the steps for enrollment.
- Go to Self-Service Banner.
- Log in using your Rowan NetID and password.
- Under the "Bursar" tab, select "ePay Center" to be directed to the secure payment site.
- If you are logging in for the first time since tuition protection was made available, a Refund Policy Acknowledgement should appear. Please review the information provided and click on the "Acknowledge" button at the end of the text (see image below).

- A "Tuition Protection Purchase" window should appear, which offers you the opportunity to take advantage of tuition protection through GradGuard or deny the coverage (see image below).

- If you choose "yes," please proceed as indicated. Note that coverage is for a single academic term.
- Once enrolled you should receive three three (3) e-mails
- A receipt;
- A confirmation of your Tuition Protection Plan' and
- A copy of your Tuition Insurance Plan policy (from Allianz Global Assistance), which includes plan details and additional information.
Declining Tuition Protection Through the ePay Center
If you choose "no" in the "Tuition Protection Purchase" window, a small window appears indicating that protection is still available for purchase via the ePay Center homepage (see images below), should you decide to opt in at a later date. Please note that the deadline to enroll is the day before classes begin each semester.
