2017 Lindback Award Winner: Edward (Ted) Schoen

Dr. Schoen was born and raised in Philadelphia. He attended LaSalle University, graduating with a B.S. in Accounting, and he then attended Georgetown Law Center and obtained a J.D. After working as a tax accountant in Philadelphia for two years, he joined the faculty at King’s College in Wilkes-Barre, where he taught Business Ethics, Business Law, Critical Thinking, and Mass Communications Law. He served as the Dean of the McGowan School of Business at King’s College for 9 years.

In 1999, Dr. Schoen became the Dean of the College of Business at Rowan University. He has served as President of the Middle Atlantic Association of Colleges of Business Administration and the New Jersey Collegiate Business Administration Association. Dr. Schoen currently teaches The Legal Environment of Business and Professional, Legal, and Managerial Responsibilities, both core programs for the undergraduate and MBA programs, respectively.

Over the previous 8 years, Dr. Schoen has published 16 referred articles in well-regarded journals, and 3 of his articles have won “Best Paper” awards. Much of this research has been directly incorporated into his classes to support his teaching. As the recipient of the 2011 Business Alumni Advisory Board Award for Achievement in Scholarship and the 2013 Business Executive Advisory Council Award for Innovation in Teaching recipient, Dr. Schoen finds his current role as a full-time faculty member as the happiest phase of his career.
