The Sabbatical Leave Committee shall conduct its review of applications for sabbatical leave and make its recommendations to the President in accordance with the current contractual agreement.

The deadline for the intention to apply form to be filed with the Provost’s Office is August 31st, 2021. Please use this Google form to indicate your intent to apply for sabbatical leave to the Provost’s Office (this form is new to this year’s application cycle). Note that this additional deadline is only for faculty who have submitted an intent to apply with the Chair, Dean, and Senate prior to June 30, 2021. Declare your intent to apply for sabbatical by emailing the information below to your Department Chair/Head, College Dean and Senate Office - Senate Office emails: ennis@rowan.edu or browne@rowan.edu Deadline to declare your intent to apply for sabbatical, email timestamp by: Wednesday, June 30, 2021 by noon. |
Steps to apply for Sabbatical Leave

Sabbatical Leave must be in the subject line
- Name
- Department
- Phone Extension
- Leave period: Faculty must pick one of these four options:
- Fall 2022
- Spring 2023
- Fall 2022-Spring 2023
- Spring 2023-Fall 2023
2. Applicants submit sabbatical applications to Department Sabbatical Committee for evaluation and Dean for Impact Statement by Monday, September 20, 2021
3. Final applications for Sabbatical Leave (including evaluative letters) should be submitted electronically to the University Senate Office: - email: ennis@rowan.edu and Chair of the University Sabbatical Committee - (Beth Wassell) - email: wassell@rowan.edu electronic copy) by Wednesday October 13, 2021 by 12 noon.

Please note: Any section of this agreement which is in conflict with and/or requires modification due to the successor statewide Agreement between the State of New Jersey and the Council of New Jersey State College Locals will be modified/eliminated to reflect the statewide Agreement and/or negotiated within 90 days of the ratification of the successor Agreement.
