Well-Being

WHAT DOES WELL-BEING MEAN?

Think well-being and what comes to mind?

First of all, it is a broad term that encompasses virtually every aspect of your life. Well-being also means something different to everyone. Dictionary definitions of well-being include: “a state characterized by health, happiness and life satisfaction.” It is also defined as “a positive physical, social and mental state.” In general, it is about feeling good about you and your place in the world.

But there’s actually a lot more to it.

Do you know that well-being is a life-long journey of highs and lows? Do you know that positive well-being can be cultivated through intentional thoughts, actions and behaviors?

We don’t just want you to survive college, we want you to thrive; we want you build a life of purpose, resilience, and engagement. We want you to live according to your values, maximize your potential, and find your best self. We want to provide you with the knowledge, skills and awareness to maintain a healthy, balanced life – wherever life may take you.

Most importantly, your well-being is, and always will be, your responsibility; your own unique, personal journey. But we are here to help you along the way. To help guide that journey, Rowan is building a culture of well-being, where you can embrace the concept that success in life goes beyond the classroom, and beyond your career.
