University Background Check information

All candidates for employment are required to successfully complete a background check process prior to starting employment. There are no exceptions.

Rowan University no longer uses fingerprinting for pre-employment screening. The entire background check process is now done entirely online through our vendor TrueScreen. Therefore, new hires will no longer have to travel anywhere to complete the background check.  

New hires who are processed through PageUp will not have to take any action to obtain a link to complete the background check. The assigned HR representative to the specific search will insure that a link is emailed to the new hire to complete as part of the onboarding process.

For all other new hires, the hiring department must contact their assigned Staffing Specialist or the appropriate HR office to have a background link emailed to the new hire. New hires may also call the appropriate HR office directly. Once the individual’s new hire status is confirmed, the new hire will be sent a link to complete his/her background check.
