Human Resources provides a digital form for employees to submit notice if they are voluntarily separating or retiring from Rowan University. This process replaces the practice of submitting documentation to the Office of Human Resources directly via email or hardcopy forms.  The digital form consolidates what was previously a multi-step process to one that can be done all in one place, alerting the appropriate parties of an employee separating from the University. 

The form, developed in partnership with Information Resources & Technology, gives employees the ability to confirm leave balances, provide separation dates, verify ownership and coordinate return of computers or other technology, and complete an exit survey in one place.  Supervisors may also use the form to complete a separation or retirement notice on behalf of one of their employees. The Employee Housing Incentive provides $1,500 per year, for a term of ten years (subject to funding availability) to any full-time permanent employee who purchases and resides in that home located in Glassboro, the City of Camden, or Borough of Stratford. Employees must be in an active full-time position at Rowan University at time of home purchase. This incentive is a taxable benefit, subject to all appropriate taxes.

First-time applicants will need to complete the electronic form and attach a copy of their settlement sheet that shows the settlement/closing date.

Repeat applicants who met the criteria in the past must submit the electronic form and provide a copy of their current tax bill or Homestead Rebate return each year.

Housing Incentive Application

Employees can also locate the electronic form through the Employee Dashboard using Self-Service Banner. Click on the link on the right side of the page that reads Submit Electronic Forms (link is located under the button to Enter Time). The Housing Incentive link will be under the section for Human Resources. Complete the online form, upload the required documents, and submit the request for review.

The deadline to apply for the housing incentive reimbursement is July 31^st of each year. Reimbursement checks will be issued in September. If you believe you are eligible for the incentive, please complete the online application with the appropriate attachments to Human Resources, located in Oak Hall South. The Employee Advisory Service (EAS) is a program designed to help employees and their dependents with personal, family or work related issues that may adversely impact their work performance. EAS provides confidential assessment, counseling and referral services and helps to restore the health and productivity of employees and the workplace as a whole. Problems are addressed in the quickest, least restrictive and most convenient manner while maximizing confidentiality and quality.

EAS is staffed with professional counselors and works in partnership regional providers to offer services throughout New Jersey and are committed to the delivery of effective, efficient, confidential and accessible care, tailored to reflect the reality of today’s workplace.

Why the Employee Advisory Service?
It has been found that each employee in the early years of employment establishes a pattern of work performance and attendance. The employee tends to maintain this pattern throughout their work career except when some major problem or life change occurs. Problems may be simple or complex. They could include such matters as marital or family discord, tangled financial obligations, problem drinking, physical ill health, drug abuse, emotional turmoil, or difficulties on the job.

Many times when one of these problems arises and nothing is done, other problems may occur and a pyramiding effect may develop. For the most part, these problems are temporary. In some instances we may find that we need the help of others to cope with the problem. Therefore, in order to help its employees, the University provides the Employee Advisory Service.

What is the Employee Advisory Service?
The Employee Advisory Service is a referral agency. If, in the opinion of the Advisor, the individual should seek medical assistance, the Advisor will help with the arrangements. If other services seem indicated, the employee will be so advised and referred.

How does the Employee Advisory Service Work?
The Advisor will discuss the problem with the employee. When an employee goes to the Service, it will be under strict confidential circumstances. All that is discussed with the Advisor is privileged and confidential.

The Employee Advisory Service may be used in any of the following circumstances:

• Employees may contact the EAS directly. Employees are encouraged to voluntarily seek information and referral by contacting the EAS directly. As all contacts with the EAS are confidential, this also will be on an entirely confidential basis. Your referral is directly to the Advisor at EAS.
• An employee may be referred to the EAS at any time, if circumstances warrant it. The aim of EAS, it must be kept in mind, is to help the employee and is not to be considered disciplinary in nature.
• State employee associations and unions may refer employees to the EAS, if the employee agrees to the referral.
• When an employee receives a less than satisfactory performance rating, he/she will be scheduled to go to the EAS. The Office of Human Resources will make the appointment and inform the employee as to the time and place. Human Resources will also arrange with the supervisor for the employee's absence

What will it cost?
No charge is involved for visits by the employee to the EAS. If further medical help or outside counseling is necessary, standard procedures for coverage by the employee's Health Benefits Plan will be followed.

Who is eligible to go to the EAS?
All employees of the University and members of their immediate households are eligible to use the EAS.
