Human Resources

From Theresa Drye, VP of Human Resources and Henry Oh, AVP for Employee Equity and Labor Relations:

As members of the Rowan University community as well as the local and national communities, we feel a great sense of sadness and grief that we must now address another incomprehensible incident involving the needless taking of yet another human life.  We can only believe that so many others in our Rowan University family share a similar feeling, and that all of us have been affected by this societal plague.

As the heads of the University’s Office of Human Resources and Office of Employee Equity, we extend the collective sympathies and empathies of the individuals who work in these offices.  Please know that while we cannot pretend that we are in a position to either instantly cure the underlying issues and incidents that have led to this national crisis, we will not stand idly by without playing our part in doing what we can and must in order to help address the crisis.

Rowan University has resources available to assist any and all of us through this trying time.  Should you feel compelled to seek our assistance in coping with this situation, we encourage you to contact the Office of Human Resources or the Office of Employee Equity.  Please know that your contact to our offices will remain confidential, and we endeavor to assist those in our community who seek our help in any palpable manner that we can.

We also encourage you to utilize the services of other Rowan University offices that seek to assist you as well, including the Division of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (“DEI”).  A review of DEI’s posted blog (found here: https://rowandei.wordpress.com/category/dei-prof-spectives/) should provide a good starting point.

We believe that in working together during this difficult time, we will all be in a better position to emerge as stronger individuals and ultimately, a stronger Rowan University and a stronger community.  In doing this, we sincerely hope that collectively, we can finally offer everyone the equitable stake in our society which all of us deserve.

Sincerely,

Theresa A. Drye
