Rowan University signed the Funding Certification and Agreement Emergency Financial Aid Grants to Students under the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act Section 18004(a)(1) of the CARES Act on 4/14/2020. Rowan received $14,471,695 in CARES funds and will disburse 50% ($7,235,848.00) to students in emergency assistance. Funds were used for costs related to refunds of auxiliary services provided to student for housing, parking, dining services, and other services that Rowan University could no longer provide due to the State-mandated closure of campus facilities in March 2020. As of November 24, 2020, Rowan University has recognized $7,235,848.00 of 18004(a)(1) funding to offset the costs of these types of refunds applied to student accounts.
In addition, Rowan was also the recipient of $718,140.00 under Section 18004(a)(2) of the CARES Act as part of the Strengthening Institutions Program. Funds were used for costs related to refunds of auxiliary services provided to students for housing, parking, dining services, and other services that Rowan University could no longer provide due to the State-mandated closure of campus facilities in March 2020. As of November 24, 2020, Rowan University had recognized $718,140.00 of 18004(a)(2) funding to offset the costs of these types of refunds applied to student accounts.

As of July 9, 2020, there were 5,176 awards made amounting to $3,625,940.00. At that time, Rowan University had approximately 14,000 students that are eligible to apply for assistance.

As of November 24, 2020, there have been 5,987 awards made amounting to $3,609,908.00. At that time, Rowan University had approximately 14,000 students that were eligible to apply for assistance.
