New Jersey Higher Education Student Assistance Authority (HESAA)
In order to be considered for state aid, New Jersey Residents will need to complete the FAFSA application before April 15 of each year*. Students will then need to complete the “New Jersey State Grant Questions” found at www.NJgrants.org and notify HESAA that they will be attending Rowan University.
Students will need to submit this information online to ensure that Rowan is notified of any state aid that the student may be eligible for.
*If you are a NJ Dreamer (DACA), you do not to complete a FAFSA since you will not be eligible for federal aid, please see below for information about completing the New Jersey Alternative Application to be considered for state aid.
Completing HESAA Application
- Visit the HESAA website: www.NJgrants.org
- You will need to register and log in to use HESAA’s online services
- Click on the link that says Answer New Jersey State Grant Questions
- Be sure to add Rowan University, Glassboro, New Jersey as your school choice. Our school code is 002609.
- Click “Submit”

New Jersey Dreamers (DACA)
Previously, in order to be eligible for federal or state financial aid, students needed to be a US citizen or eligible non-citizen. As of May 9, 2018, New Jersey passed a law that allows undocumented students enrolled in eligible New Jersey colleges to apply for New Jersey financial aid. Students interested in being considered for this funding must completing the New Jersey Alternative Financial Aid Application.
