Loss of Scholarship

A condition to the renewal of your Rowan University Scholarship is that you maintain the minimum continued eligibility requirements. We will conduct a review of your grades on an annual basis and you will be notified if your performance does not meet the requirements to receive your Rowan University Merit Scholarship.

Scholarship appeals are due by August 1, 2018

You have the option to appeal this decision based upon extenuating circumstances and/or plans to remediate course work during a summer term at Rowan University. To do so, you must submit a detailed explanation of your extenuating circumstances to scholarshipappeal@rowan.edu using the following guidelines:

  1. You must submit a typed, signed and dated, personal statement:
    1. Explain the circumstances that prevented you from meeting Rowan Scholarship GPA requirement. It is your responsibility to explain how your circumstances were of sufficient duration and intensity to affect the entire academic year.
    2. Describe in detail the changes that you have made to be successful in your academic career going forward. Attach the required documentation to support your appeal.

Circumstance that hindered academic performance Supporting documentation
Illness or injury of student (including pregnancy) or immediate family member Dated medical documentation
Death of an immediate family member, roommate or close friend Death Certificate
Significant trauma in student's life which impacted the student's emotional and/or physical health Dated medical documentation or signed and dated letter from professional counselor
Military Deployment Copy of military orders or letter from Commanding Officer
Other special circumstances beyond the student’s control Relevant court documents, police reports, physician’s statement or other third party verification
