Students may visit their insurance providers website to view a full list of in-network providers. Students who have questions about which psychiatric services are provided are strongly encouraged to call their insurance company.
Telehealth Options
- This telehealth service provides you with a psychiatrist who can provide you with medication management. They accept most major medical insurances, excluding Medicaid and Medicare.
- Lifestance provides therapy and psychiatry services. Their providers can be seen in person or online through telehealth appointments. They accept most major medical insurances, excluding Medicaid and Medicare.
In-Person Option
- You can use psychologytoday.com to locate psychiatrists (and therapists) based on zip code, insurance, and areas of expertise.
Psychiatric Services Information
Counseling & Medications
Clinical research indicates that most people who are prescribed psychiatric medications have better clinical outcomes with longer lasting positive effects if they simultaneously participate in counseling or psychotherapy.
It is our usual practice that consultation with our psychiatrist is available only for students concurrently participating in counseling.
Canceling Appointments
It is very important to attend any and all meetings you have scheduled with the psychiatrist. The psychiatrist has a limited schedule and is only available select days per week, making any missed appointments a missed opportunity for another patient and making it more difficult for you to reschedule. Please cancel any appointments in a timely manner by calling Counseling & Psychological Services. If a student does not show for a follow-up appointment with the psychiatrist, they will be charged a $10.00 fee.
