The Form I-20 is one of the most important documents you will encounter as an F-1 international student. You must receive an I-20 before you can apply for a visa and enter the U.S. to study.
If you are a Change of Status student – meaning you are in the U.S. and will be changing status to F-1 from a different status without departing the country – you MUST reach out to the International Center before applying for your I-20!

What is the I-20?
The Form I-20 is the Certificate of Eligibility for Nonimmigrant (F-1) Student Status. It is required to apply for and receive the F-1 visa. You must also obtain a Form I-20 for any eligible dependents you plan to bring to the United States with you.
