International Student Employment Workshop Series
The International Center team has created a series of Employment Workshops to equip you with the knowledge to successfully and legally work in the U.S. We strongly advise you to review these workshops in their entirety, as they will answer most of your questions.
The Fall 2026 workshops have been scheduled and will all happen within the first two months of the semester. Please check your student email inbox for the meeting links once the workshop dates get closer.
Fall 2026 Employment Workshop Series
OPT Workshop
This workshop will review the full Post-Completion OPT application process, Pre-Completion OPT information, employment and reporting requirements, and more. F-1 students must attend or watch this workshop before applying for OPT.- Friday, September 25, 2026 at 10:00am EDT

STEM OPT Workshop
This workshop will review STEM OPT regulations, eligibility, the full STEM Extension OPT application process, employment and reporting requirements, options Beyond the 24-Month OPT STEM Extension, and more. F-1 students must attend or watch this workshop before applying for the STEM Extension.
This workshop only applies to you if your degree (CIP code listed under “Major 1” on your I-20) is on the Department of Homeland Security's STEM Designated Degree Program List.

Beyond F-1: Understanding Long-Term Immigration Pathways
This workshop will be presented by an immigration attorney and will discuss options for F-1 students after OPT including Cap-Gap Extension, H-1B visa process and timelines, alternatives to H-1B, long-term immigration planning, and more.

CPT Workshop
This workshop will review the CPT regulations, CPT eligibility at Rowan, the full CPT application process, and volunteering vs. unpaid work. F-1 students must attend or watch this workshop before applying for CPT.
