I-20 Financial Documentation
Rowan University remains committed to making education affordable for all international students regardless of country of origin. As a public institution, we cannot administer need-based financial aid to international students. Unless awarded a merit-based scholarship or assistantship, international students must plan to pay the entire cost of attending Rowan University. Federal regulations require you to demonstrate sufficient proof of funds before we issue your I-20.

F-2 Dependents: You must submit proof of additional funds in the amount of $8,200 for your dependent spouse and $5,800 for each dependent (minor) child who will accompany you to the U.S.
The above expenses are only estimates. The accurate cost of attendance will appear on your tuition bill. These costs are subject to change at any point throughout the application process and are subject to change upon approval of the University’s Board of Trustees.
Estimated expenses are for the 9-month academic year only, except for the SOM program which is calculated on a 12-month basis. If you intend on staying in the U.S. during the summer, please budget accordingly.
Please note that the maximum amount of USD the International Center will report on your I-20 is $100,000, regardless of if you have more than $100,000 in financial support. For SOM students, we will accept up to 2x the total expense estimate.
Financial Documentation Guidelines
International students are required by the U.S. government to demonstrate sufficient funding to receive an I-20 and enter the U.S. to study. Sufficient funding is defined as greater than or equal to the estimated total expense amount above, in USD.
Any combination of funds is acceptable so long as you demonstrate that you can cover the full cost of attendance for one full academic year. Please note that all costs are estimated for immigration purposes and subject to change. Your accurate cost of attendance will be reflected on your tuition bill. Only submit financial documentation once your source of funding has been finalized. Documents should only be submitted for sponsors that you want to appear on your I-20.
NOTE: Incoming students CANNOT be sponsored by a current F-1 student from Rowan. We also do not accept affidavits of free room and board that are completed by other F-1 students.
Any questions about funding can be directed to the International Center: rowanic@rowan.edu.
