Welcome J-1 Exchange Visitors!

Rowan University welcomes international research scholars, professors, postdocs, interns, and students as Exchange Visitors (EVs) on J-1 visas through the U.S. Department of State’s Exchange Visitor Program. The Exchange Visitor Program was created to promote cultural exchange between countries.

The J-1 visa is a nonimmigrant visa issued to Exchange Visitors participating in programs that promote cultural exchange—especially to obtain educational, medical, or business training—within the U.S. All applicants must meet eligibility criteria and be sponsored either by a private sector or government program [22 CFR 62].
