F-1 SEVIS Transfers

If you are coming from another U.S. institution and you are already in the United States on F-1 status, you will have to have to transfer your SEVIS record to Rowan.

First, you will need to reach out to your current DSO/international advisor at your current school. You must provide your current DSO with Rowan University’s SEVIS school code. The SEVIS school code differs depending on your program’s campus. Make sure you provide the correct code!

  • Glassboro campus: NEW214F00278000
  • Stratford campus: NEW214F00278001
  • Sewell campus: NEW214F00278002
  • Camden campus: NEW214F00278003
  • Mount Laurel campus: NEW214F00278004

Most students will use the Glassboro campus code. Medical students will use either Stratford or Sewell codes, depending on the program. Students who are a part of the 3+1 program with Rowan College of Burlington County will use the Mount Laurel campus code. Make sure you use the correct code to properly transfer your record.

If your current school needs proof of acceptance to Rowan University, you can access your admission letter via your admissions portal.

Next, you must apply for a Rowan University I-20. Click here for instructions on this process.

When applying for your I-20, you must identify yourself as a transfer-in student at the bottom of the second page. This will open the Transfer-In Request, where you will need to submit additional documentation:

  • Transfer-In Form - you should complete this, upload it to the request, AND provide it to your current DSO to facilitate the transfer
  • I-94 - we need this to verify when you entered the U.S. and on what status; please download your most recent I-94  from U.S. CBP’s website
  • F-1 visa and I-20 from your current school

Then, you must enter your current U.S. address – even if it is temporary – and click “Submit”.

After you complete the Transfer-In Request, you can proceed with the rest of the I-20 application process.
