EOF and RISE

Educational Opportunity Fund program (EOF)

The Educational Opportunity Fund Program is a State funded grant for New Jersey residents providing financial assistance and academic support services for low income, first generation, academically promising New Jersey residents with limited academic preparation. Eligible students receive intentional academic support and financial assistance based on their individual need. If you would like to visit the official EOF State page click here.

EOF Undergraduate Eligibility:

  • Must demonstrate an educationally and economically disadvantaged background
  • Must be a New Jersey resident 12 consecutive months prior to receiving the award
  • Must apply and be accepted to a participating New Jersey college or university
  • Must meet the academic criteria as set by the institution of choice
  • Must file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

 

RISE

RISE is a scholarship program designed for highly motivated first generation students. There is no financial eligibility criteria required to be a part of the RISE Program. However, all students must complete the FAFSA in order to determine if they are eligible for other financial aid resources. To be considered for the RISE Program, students must submit the Rowan University admissions application with supporting documentation, and respond to the RISE invitation email with a 500 word essay. RISE students are required to attend the ASCEND six-week Pre-College institute and receive the benefits from all components of the program.
