Laboratory Risk Assessment - The American Chemical Society's Division of Chemical Health and Safety has created a video and PowerPoint presentation on conducting a risk assessment of laboratory work with hazardous chemicals:
Additional Chemical Safety Resources
CAMEO Chemicals Hazardous Materials Database - This database contains a wealth of chemical safety information from various sources. It can be used to look up physical properties, health hazards, and determine potential chemical incompatibilities. The database is available online and in the form of Apps for both Apple and Android devices.
NIOSH Pocket Guide to Chemical Hazards - Developed by the CDC, this database is intended to help inform individuals about workplace chemicals and their hazards. The NIOSH Pocket guide is available at the link below. The guide is available in web format, PDF print, as well as in the form of a Mobile App for Apple and Android devices.

Chemical Protective Clothing & Glove Recommendations - Manufacturers of Gloves and other PPE provide chemical compatibility recommendations to assist users in the selection of appropriate product offerings. Before working with any chemical, always consult with the glove manufacture to ensure that you are using the right glove for the chemical(s) you will be working with. Both OSHA and NIOSH provide general recommendations for the selection of gloves and other PPE based on chemical compatibility. It is important to understand that the information provided by PPE Manufacturers, OSHA, and NIOSH are recommendations only due to the many variables associated with actual use.
