Laser Safety
The purpose of this manual is to ensure the safe use of lasers in research and instructional laboratories at Rowan University. All laser operators must read the Rowan Laser Safety Manual before operating Class 3B or Class 4 lasers.
Laser Standard Operating Procedures
The Laser Standard Operating Procedures (Appendix A in the Laser Safety Manual) is required for Class 3B and Class 4 Lasers. All laser operators must read and agree to comply with the SOP by signing the Signature Form located at the end of the document. The completed SOP and signature form must be uploaded into BioRAFT under the Documents Tab.
Laser Device Registration Form
The Laser Device Registration Form (Appendix B in the Laser Safety Manual) is required for Class 3B and Class 4 Lasers. Upload the completed document into BioRAFT under the Documents Tab.
Before operating a Class 3B or Class 4 laser, and each calendar year after as refresher training, laser operators shall complete EHS Laser Safety Training.
All individuals that have completed EHS Laser Safety Training should sign the Laser Safety Signature Form. This document should be uploaded into BioRAFT in the Documents Tab.
