Physical Well-Being

Being well physically means more than eating more fruits and vegetables.

It means getting moving in ways that you find fun.

It also means getting consistent sleep, keeping appointments with health-care providers and making conscious decisions every day to take care of your body.

Here’s information to help you stay physically well.

Rowan Resources 

Campus Recreation is a one-stop shop for fitness—and fun. The Rec Center offers dozens of classes, as well as personal training, fitness workshops, intramural and sport clubs and more informal recreation, such as swimming, volleyball, basketball, ping pong and more.

The Wellness Center has sick and well appointments, counseling sessions, student-run EMS services, and Healthy Campus Initiatives, which offers multiple programs weekly.

Gourmet Dining has a registered dietician and nutritionist who can help you make healthy eating decisions. Meanwhile, the SHOP can help if you are low on groceries and cash. Every Friday, Philabundance’s Fresh for All offers up free fruits and vegetables to everyone.

Public Safety works to keep campus safe and also offers safety classes, fire protection, a safe escort service, and a rape aggression defense system program.

Local Resources

Glassboro has a beautiful parks system that includes South Delsea Drive Park (soccer, baseball, basketball and playground), East New Street Park (soccer, baseball, hockey and a playground), as well as James Atkinson Park (softball, soccer, tennis, pickle ball, basketball, walking, jogging and biking trails, playgrounds and a picnic area).

Scotland Run Park (fishing, boating, canoes, kayaking, walking trails) is in nearby Clayton, while Pitman Golf Course is a public course open to golfers of all ages and abilities.

Health and fitness clubs in the area abound.
