There are strict limitations on what is permitted to be poured into drains. Under no circumstance may a hazardous or regulated substance be disposed of via a laboratory drain. The following guide provides:

1. A list of chemicals, substances, & conditions that are prohibited for sewer disposal by the EPA, NJDEP, and local authorities.
2. A list of common non-hazardous chemicals that may be drain disposed.

Pre-printed waste labels are available in bins outside our waste rooms located on the loading dock of the following buildings:

• Discovery Hall
• Engineering Hall
• Rowan Hall
• Science Hall
• SJTP

Waste labels at the Joint Health Sciences Center are located in Room 337.

Chemical waste is shipped from the Glassboro and South Jersey Technology Park Campuses approximately every 6 weeks. The following document contains the pre-scheduled shipping dates for the current year:
