Catering at Rowan

Gourmet Dining Catering Services

Rowan University’s Campus Dining provides distinct on-campus catering services depending on your catering needs.  Our goal is to provide the highest quality service to faculty, staff, students, alumni and all affiliates of the University community. Gourmet Dining offers a wide range of services from continental breakfast to formal, full service catering receptions. All catered events are booked through Gourmet Dining’s E-Cater website and charged directly to your FOAPAL. There's no need to enter a requisition, just follow the ordering guidelines listed below.

Gourmet Dining Food Service Waiver

The Rowan University Food Service Agreement with Gourmet Dining grants Gourmet the exclusive rights to food service on the Rowan campus including the main Glassboro campus, the Stratford campus, and the Camden campuses of CMSRU & the undergraduate college for all internal and external clients. As per contractual guidelines with Rowan University the use of outside food service vendors must be approved by Gourmet Dining in order to not be in violation of said contract.

In order to request the use of an outside vendor on the Rowan campuses one must submit a food service waiver request form for review to Gourmet Dining at least two weeks in advance of the anticipated service. Once received Gourmet will contact the client to discuss their services and offerings to base the approval or denial of the food service request.

New Users: Create an account:

  • Complete user information: name, email, department name and phone number
  • An email will be sent to you with an automated password

Existing Users: How to book an order:

Step 1 - Home

  • Book an Event
  • Make sure event follows Rowan University Entertainment Policy

Step 2 - Event Information

  • Select FOAPAL from the drop-down menu: Fund, Org, Account and Program number
  • Answer Entertainment / Official Reception Request questions
  • Enter brief descriptive business purpose & who will be attending
  • Complete event information: location, building, room, function date, frequency, event start and end time and number of guests
  • Please use the additional comments box at the bottom of the page for any special room setup, pick up time or event attendee information.

Step 3 - Menu

  • Choose Menu options
  • Include special dietary requirements (Kosher, Allergies, Vegetarian, etc.) in additional comment box. Please let us know if you would like this modified by adding additional comments at the bottom of the page
  • Add on other services required (flowers, linen, china, etc.) Consult with our professional staff about further services.
  • Proceed to Checkout

Step 4 - Setup

  • View event information (date, time, location, etc.)
  • Add comment or upload document (special setup comments, additional details or floor plans)
  • Save & Checkout

Step 5 - Checkout

  • View order and adjust if necessary
  • Ensure all sections are completed
  • Enter the email address of the individual authorized to approve the order
  • Add Comments
  • Read the disclaimer and submit the order
  • An email will be sent to the department / division approver to ensure compliance and authorization to process the order
  • Once the order is approved Gourmet Dining will process

Step 6 - Event Confirmation

  • Upon approval of the order, the order status will change from P (pending) to A (approved)
  • This confirms the department / division approver has been authorized to process the order
  • All entertainment forms / orders are sent electronically to the Accounts Payable department
  • Please do not print or forward any of these documents to the Accounts Payable department
  • These expenses will be directly charged to your FOAPAL there’s no need to enter a requisition in Banner

Event Changes and Updates
Should you need to make any changes or updates to your order prior to the event, you may log into e-cater, select My Orders tab, and choose Update from the dropdown menu of the order you would like to update. Once you select update, you will have access to the appropriate tab that needs to be updated.

For example,

Choose the Event Information tab
-If you need to increase your guests from 50 to 65

Choose the Menu tab
-If you wish to add additional menu items of increase/decrease items already selected.
