Nominations for our Advisory Board are NOW OPEN!
WAN is seeking candidates for open advisory board positions. All are welcome to apply regardless of their current role; however, applicants must be employees of Rowan University, CMSRU, Cooper Health, Rowan-Virtua SOM, Rowan Medicine, Virtua Health, RCSJ, or RCBC. WAN provides opportunities for Rowan University employees, students, and partners to network, develop leadership skills, and strategize for professional growth.
We encourage you to nominate yourself or a qualified member of the Rowan University community who is committed to contributing time and expertise to WAN’s mission.
WAN Board responsibilities include:
- Serve a three-year term on the Advisory Board
- Attend regular board meetings (during the academic year) and actively participate in meeting discussions
- Attend Board events (live or virtually) that include meetings, workshops, the annual conference(s) and the annual planning retreat
- Chair and/or participate in operating committees as well as report on all committee work to the Board Chair and other board members
- Provide leadership and promote involvement of others in the network
- Function as a goodwill ambassador and spokesperson for the network and its activities

Student Advisory Board Member Opportunity - NOW OPEN!!
Are you interested in leadership, advocacy, and helping shape a more inclusive campus community? The Women’s Alliance Network (WAN) is launching a pilot program welcoming students to serve as advisory members on our board and we want your voice at the table!
WAN is seeking 2–3 engaged students to serve as Student Advisory Board Members for a one-year term (July–June), with the possibility of renewal for a second year. This opportunity allows students to collaborate with campus leaders, contribute to meaningful initiatives, and strengthen the connection between WAN and the student community.
Position Overview - Student Advisory Board Members will:
- Participate in WAN board meetings and committees
- Share student perspectives to inform WAN programs, events, and initiatives
- Contribute ideas that support an educational, social, and professional campus environment
- Assist with WAN events and activities as needed
- Help shape the future of student engagement within WAN
Who Should Apply - This opportunity is open to students who:
- Care about amplifying diverse voices and contributing to an educational, social, and professional campus environment
- Are interested in leadership, advocacy, and community engagement
- Enjoy collaborating with professionals and peers from a variety of backgrounds
- Can commit approximately 3–5 hours per month
Students in any degree-seeking undergraduate or graduate program are eligible to apply. While all students are encouraged to apply, WAN is especially interested in sophomores, juniors, and graduate students who demonstrate leadership potential and a genuine interest in enhancing campus life. Students of all majors and gender identities are welcome.
Term & Selection Details:
- Term length: 1 year (July–June)
- Renewal: Eligible for one additional year (maximum of two terms)
- Student Advisory Board Members are selected through WAN’s established election process, in accordance with WAN bylaws
- This is a pilot opportunity, and student feedback will directly inform the future of student involvement within WAN
