Flying First Orientation

The Rowan University First Generation Task Force defines a first-generation student as a student whose parents have not completed a degree, or completed a degree in another country, or whose parents may have a degree but the student has limited preparation or resources in their immediate family or support network.

If you are a first-generation student, please join Flying First at a First Generation Welcome Reception at select orientation sessions!

First Generation Welcome Receptions at Orientation 2018

Flying First receptions are available at the following orientation sessions:

  • Transfer students: June 18
  • Freshmen: June 25, June 28, or July 19. Freshmen orientation is two days long. The First Generation Welcome Reception is the evening of the first day.

At these receptions, you will meet other first-generation students, faculty and staff, and learn about the additional resources available to you!

Please note that orientation sessions vary by major and space available. You are only eligible to attend the orientation session(s) that appear for you to select within the orientation reservation system. Complete your orientation reservation online as soon as you can after confirming admission for best selection of possible dates.
