Description of Test- The Accuplacer Quantitative Reasoning, Algebra and Statistics Placement Test was developed by College Board to measure your preparedness for college level mathematics. There are 20 multiple choice questions. Scrap paper and a pencil may be used throughout the test, and an on-screen calculator will be displayed for any problems that allow it. The test is administered without a fee at Rowan University’s Testing Center on the Glassboro Campus, or can be taken remotely for a proctoring fee of $28. If multiple Accuplacer placement tests are required, they can be taken in one appointment without additional fees. Accuplacer Math Exemptions
If you are in one of the majors listed below, you are exempt from Accuplacer Mathematics placement testing if you did not apply as test-optional and have requested the College Board to send an electronic score report with your SAT/ACT scores to Rowan University Admissions, with scores equal to or higher than the following: SAT Math 620 Or if you transferred a college level Pre-Calculus or Calculus course (evaluated by an official transcript sent to Rowan University Registrar's Office). |

ACCUPLACER FAQS
When should I take my placement tests?
Recommended timing - by June 1 (fall admit) or December 12 (spring admit):
Placement tests are required and should be completed within 30 days of accepting your offer of admission.
We highly recommend that you take your test prior to December 12 for spring admittance or prior to June 1st for fall admittance.
Where can I take the placement tests and what does it cost?
There are two options to choose from to complete your placement test:
- Remote: You can test at home for a $28 fee, via ACCUPLACER’S online proctor, ProctorU through Meazure Learning.
- In-person: You can to test without a fee at the Rowan University Testing Center.

Rowan University does not collect or receive any portion of the fees collected by the online proctor or local testing center options.
How do I register to take the placement tests at the Rowan University Testing Center?
Click here to schedule an appointment to test at the Rowan University Testing Center, then follow the steps below to complete your registration:
- From the drop down menu “Choose a group” select Placement Test (Basic Skills Math, Basic Skills Reading, and/or College Level Math)
- From the drop down menu “Choose an exam” select Placement Test
- From the menu “Choose a Date” click on the calendar on the right inside the box, then choose a date that is in bold type and at least 36 hours in advance.
- From the menu “Choose a time” select your preferred time
- Complete “Who is taking this exam” information for the person who will be testing.
- Read the “Exam guideline Acknowledgement” and check the box to agree to follow the guidelines
- Complete “Needed Information”
- Select ADD TO CART
- Select COMPLETE REGISTRATION

How do I register to take the placement tests at home?
To register for at-home ACCUPLACER placement testing ($28* fee required):
- Verify that the desktop, laptop, or Chromebook computer you want to use for testing meets the system requirements. Phones and tablets cannot be used. You must have Guardian Browser as a web browser, a webcam, internet connectivity with a minimum bandwidth of 3Mbps, and audio capabilities (speaker and microphone). If your system meets these requirements, please continue to number 2. If your system does not meet the requirements, you cannot take your placement tests on that computer. If you do not have access to a computer that meets the requirements, you may test on campus at the Rowan University Testing Center. There is no proctor fee the first time you take your placement test on-campus at Rowan University’s Testing Center.

A representative of Testing Services will review your records to determine which placement tests are required. A voucher and scheduling instructions will be sent to your Rowan Student email within 5 business days. Once you’ve received your voucher, proceed to Step 3.
- Schedule your test with the Meazure Learning online proctor using the instructions included in the email you received with your voucher. There is a fee* paid directly to Meazure Learning for proctoring the exam. No portion of that fee is collected or received by Rowan University. You will need a debit or credit card to pay the proctor fee. If you have any technical or scheduling difficulties, contact the proctor’s support by emailing testingsupport@meazurelearning.com, clicking the Live Chat link within the Meazure Learning dashboard, or calling Meazure Learning customer service at 855-772-8678.
When it is time for your appointment, log back into the site by returning to the Meazure Learning website by clicking here, then log in and follow the on-screen instructions to begin your test. Be prepared to test your system and log in about five minutes prior to your scheduled start time to allow for necessary set up. Please follow all of the instructions provided by Rowan University and by the Meazure Learning Proctor. Failure to follow the instructions provided could result in the interruption or cancellation of your exam.
*If you are concerned about the proctor fee, you can take your placement tests on-campus at Rowan University’s Testing Center. There is no proctor fee the first time you take your placement test at the Rowan University Testing Center, however appointment availability is limited. How long are the ACCUPLACER placement tests?
The ACCUPLACER tests are untimed.
You can plan to test for at least 30-45 minutes per placement test. However, the placement tests could take you less or more time than this estimate.
Should I prepare for the ACCUPLACER placement tests?
Yes! Preparation should not be focused on learning new material, but on reviewing the material you have already learned.

You can transfer your ACCUPLACER test scores to Rowan University’s Testing Services.

Can I have my ACCUPLACER scores transferred to another academic institution?
What do my ACCUPLACER scores mean?
Your Accuplacer scores help your academic advisor place you into the appropriate courses for your college schedule.
First-Year Students: Your college schedule is automatically created by your academic advisor once they have received your placement testing scores.
Transfer Students: You register for your courses after you have taken your placement tests. Please double check with your academic advisor for more information.
Placement testing scores take up to 3 business days to reflect into Rowan University's self-service banner system.
Can I retake my ACCUPLACER placement tests?
Yes!
Retakes can only be taken in-person at the Rowan University Testing Center for a fee of $15.
Challenge test (re-take) at the Rowan University Testing Center:
Schedule an appointment here (required), and then choose the option to re-take a placement test at the Rowan University Testing Center. The $15 fee must be paid by debit or credit card in order to schedule the appointment.
Your highest score will be used for your placement.
