Welcome Letter

Welcome Letter

A Letter from the Associate Vice President for Student Life

I’m delighted to have this opportunity to welcome you and
your family to Rowan University.

Dr. Drew Tinnin

In the Division of Student Life, we know the vital role parents and family members play in the lives of students. We also acknowledge the sacrifices you have made – and the emotional adjustment it takes – to send your student to a new home-away-from-home. We truly believe your student will have the best Rowan experience if we are partners with you and your family. This website is designed to make the transition just a little bit easier for you and your student.

When students come to college, they often experience challenges that may overwhelm or confuse them as they make new friends, adjust to new academic and behavioral expectations, and encounter periods of growth, self-reflection, and independence. By partnering with parents and family members, we are able to offer a unique, student-centered experience as students progress through the University and ultimately move on to productive personal and professional lives. While we hope this website will be a valuable resource for you and your student – one that helps you adjust to change in your student’s life, provide a sense of comfort and support, and make you aware of the services available to your students as they are immersed in the Rowan experience – it’s only the beginning of our connection with you.

This website includes information, newsletters, sign-ups for the parent email group, and other news that will help you stay abreast of what’s happening here on campus.

Additionally, we encourage you to visit the campus often. Attend athletic and arts events. Participate in Family Weekend. Make Rowan University your home-away-from-home as well.

Once again, thank you for choosing Rowan University. We look forward to working with you to give your student a truly memorable Rowan experience.

Sincerely,

Drew Tinnin, Ed.D.
