Downloading assets

STEP 1: Select the files you would like to download

The first step in the process is to identify the files you would like to download. You can do this by searching, browsing, or creating a lightbox with a set of assets—either way, you just need to locate the files you need. Once you have located them it’s simply then a case of selecting them by checking the little box at the top right of the asset's thumbnail. Once you have selected the files you wish to download click on the “Download” button on the menu bar at the top of the screen.

STEP 3: Choosing the format/size etc. of the assets your download

Depending on your level of access, you can download assets in a variety of formats and sizes or simply as originals. Use the drop-down menu to select the download format. If you have a mixture of videos and images that you are downloading you will be given the option to choose your preferred format(s) for both.

You will also have the option to choose other settings such as the color spectrum and resolution, and also whether you wish to stamp your assets with a watermark.

In addition to your assets, you can also include a Contact Sheet and Asset Export File. The Contact Sheet is a pdf file with a summary of all the images downloaded. The Asset export file is a CSV file that contains the Asset Title, File Name, Asset Type, MIME Type, and Asset Size.

STEP 4: Enter a name for your download file

Next, enter a name for your download file. All of your selected assets will be pulled together into a single zip file and prepared for download. Depending on the number of assets you’re requesting, MediaCloud might need a minute or two to prepare the zip file. In addition, you will be taken to the download screen where you can see the progress. Once your download is ready you’ll see the message “Ready to download” and the download button will become available.
