Rowan University (“Rowan”) exercises great care in ensuring that our users’ private information remains safe. As usage of Rowan’s  website evolves, we must take special action to provide users with the best possible online experience. To do this, there may be instances where Rowan is required to collect and store information about its users. We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device's IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user. The personally identifiable information Rowan University collects may be used in one or more of the ways listed below:

Information Sharing

Rowan  may share certain limited information with  third-party agents like Google Analytics  used to perform certain functions necessary to provide the services users expect when visiting our sites.

This information is needed to perform their intended functions; however, these entities do not have the authority to use what is collected for purposes such as sending users product driven marketing offers. Rowan provides users with administrative, technical, electronic, and contractual security measures to protect information from intentional or unintentional use or disclosure. We encrypt our Sites and services using a Secure Sockets Layer.  We restrict access to personal information to Rowan employees, contractors and agents who need to know that information in order to process it for us, and who are subject to strict contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations. Links Redirecting to Non-University Sites

Rowan University websites may contain links that redirect users from  the  .edu domain. Once users leave our site, we cannot guarantee the safety of their private information. We are not responsible for non-University site’s content or privacy policies that may be linked to our site. Please review the privacy policy of any site you visit. Being aware of a site’s privacy policy will make aware your personal information’s safety.


Privacy Protection and Minors

Rowan University does not knowingly disclose, collect, share, or use any information from or about children under 13 years of age. Our sites are intended for use by and communication with  education and administrative professionals.
