Notice of Drug-Free Workplace to Employees
Drug and Alcohol Abuse Assistance and Distribution (Students & Employees)
There is a notification for the link to the Student Handbook that is sent to the all student and employee email list through the Rowan Announcer. The notification is sent once a week for three weeks each Fall and Spring semester (after the Add period is over).
For Students and Parents,
The U.S. Department of Education has issued regulations implementing the provisions of the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act Amendments of 1989. These regulations require that the University distribute the following information annually to you concerning the possession, use, or distribution of alcohol and illicit drugs at the University.
The Alcohol and Other Drugs Policy Guide can be accessed within the Rowan University Student Handbook pages 88-100.
The University's policies on alcohol and other drugs are included, along with related information on the University’s sanctions for violation of these policies; on criminal penalties for the illegal possession or distribution of drugs and alcohol; on health risks of drugs and alcohol; and on places to get help concerning the illicit use and abuse of alcohol and drugs. Please read this material carefully. There is much information here, some of it technical, and all of it is vitally important. This applies to all Rowan University students regardless of location, campus or academic program.
For employees,
All new employees receive information in their new employee orientation handbook. Additionally, all employees have access to the presentation on the website.
