Dr. Kevin S. Koett serves in a number of leadership capacities within the Division of Student Life which encourage, facilitate, and promote student development, growth, success, and support. Dr. Koett is responsible for the Dean of Students Office; Community Standards; Residential Learning and University Housing; and Volunteerism, Community Engagement & Commuter Services. In addition, he serves as a primary advocate, contact, and source of information for all students. Dean Koett will challenge and support students to create an impactful higher education experience at Rowan University through active engagement in the community, building a healthy sense of self-confidence, and learning to find value in all experiences and people.

Dr. Koett has worked as a student affairs professional for three decades, and began his educational journey at Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in Social Studies Teaching. Dean Koett completed a Master of Science in Higher Education Administration at Syracuse University in New York, and earned a Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Morehead State University in Kentucky. His doctoral work explored student transitions from high school to post-secondary institutions and developed models to assist students, parents, and mentors with the creation of effective transitional strategies.

As a first-generation student, student athlete, and resident assistant, Dr. Koett learned the importance of asking questions, being involved on campus, collaborations, and resilience as an undergraduate. He values all interactions with students, faculty, staff, and institution constituents. Through active listening, Dean Koett uses what he learns from others to advocate for students and student success. Dr. Koett is honored to be a member of the Rowan community, and looks forward to meeting you (whether to say “hello” or assist with any questions or concerns you might wish to share).
